I like to refer to my approach to photojournalism as an ‘instrumentalist approach’. In my work, photojournalism is my chosen medium, which I use as an instrument through which to communicate gross violations of human rights to a very wide audience, and in so doing work towards positive social change.
In print media photographs do not stand alone. Accordingly, I have positioned myself in such a way as to provide commentary on conflict-related situations and thus author written pieces to compliment my photographic work.
