Lauren Rautenbach

Lauren Rautenbach is a Cape Town-based photographer drawn to intimate storytelling through the lens. Her work is anchored in two distinct focus areas, both of which allow her to capture moments that prioritise an emotional connection.

Lauren specialises in crafting book cover images, with a strong focus on historical. These carefully staged shoots require not only her photographic skill, but also art direction, styling and a narrative vision that results in evocative story-driven portraiture. Her book cover imagery is represented by Arcangel Images, the leading creative rights-managed image library in the publishing industry.

Her documentary style imagery seeks to highlight the everyday moments which illustrate the beauty of living with diversity, reminding us of the richness of our shared humanity. Her work has been featured internationally, both commercially and through the pro bono work she provides to select NGOs in Southern Africa.

In addition, Lauren maintains a diverse commercial portfolio, working with stills and video for a broad range of clients. She has been shooting with Fujifilm since 2012.
