Coco Van Oppens

Coco Van Oppens embarked on her journey in the film industry more than three decades ago and has since become a highly-skilled and experienced unit stills photographer. She has an unwavering passion for capturing the very essence of film and TV productions through her iconic imagery. She holds a degree in Commercial Photography from the prestigious Brooks Institute of Photography in California.

Meticulous attention to detail and an in-depth understanding of natural light and composition are the hallmarks of Coco’s work. She works closely with actors, directors and cinematographers to capture stunning behind-the-scenes moments, and her promotional images are captivating.

In recognition of her contribution to the field, Coco was accepted into the esteemed SMPSP (Society of Motion Picture Stills Photographers) in 2020. This international honorary organization is devoted to celebrating the art of motion picture stills photography. Coco’s membership holds special significance as she becomes the first member based in Africa.

Coco’s off-set work encompasses a diverse range of photography genres, including documentary, travel, portraits, with a particular affinity for children’s portraits. Her off-set portfolio showcases a balanced mix of these genres, all infused with a cinematic feel that is characteristic of her style.
