<p>It’s been said before that the first motorcycle race happened when the second one was built. I’m assuming that race was more than likely on dirt, or at least that’s how I’d like to imagine it happened. A few weeks back I attended one of the most fun races to be had (in Johannesburg) in the dirt on two wheels, Stof Skop....</p>

<p>One’s pain can never be measurably compared to another’s- we have all been hurt and most of us are in dire need of a therapeutic outlet. This heartfelt realization was the basis for a trip focused on making an impact through art, in the lives of some whose glares were turned from seeing the richness around them…refugee children in Uganda.</p>

<p><span style="font-size:13.3333px">This review is based on a 11 day trip to Japan during which Fujifilm so graciously loaned me a brand new X-T2 including several lenses and the battery grip. I was touring with Shortstraw and Desmond and the Tutus to document their music tour of Japan, going through Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and a quick stop in Hong Kong. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:13.3333px">I’m a Johannesburg based Cinematographer and photographer. I studied at Wits and own a Sony A7s. I’ve shot on cameras from the Canon 5Ds to Sony FS7 to the big boys like the Arri Alexa, Amira and Red Dragon...</span></p>

<p>The phone call came in at exactly the right time in the afternoon after a particularly difficult morning in the office… “Can you make time for a shoot with Richard Stirton, the musician who just won The Voice, you know?” “Of course...</p>

<p><span style="font-size:10pt">I had the fortunate opportunity to get my hands on the newly released </span><a href="http://www.myfujifilm.co.za/cameras/fujifilm-x-t2"><span style="font-size:10pt">Fujifilm X-T2</span></a><span style="font-size:10pt"> over a weekend. I was counting down the days to get my grubby hands on this mirrorless beauty, as I stirred the thought "will this replace my aging 5D MkII". Can this little mirrorless beat out my monstrous Full-Frame goliath?</span></p>

<p>If you’re reading this post then I doubt I have to try and win you over to Fuji, in fact I shouldn’t have to do that anyway – you’ve either seen the light or its just a matter of time until you do. The photographs that follow are small selection of images that I’ve made with my X100T....</p>

<p>African Aerospace and Defense (AAD) comes around every 2 years and the 2016 edition took place from the 14th to the 18th of September.  As in 2014 I was fortunate enough to gain press accreditation for the event thanks to the assistance of the good people at the International Society of Aviation Photography, of whom I'm a member, who kindly provided me with requisite credentials to complete my application.</p>

I say that because through various mediums I express myself and how I see the world through the lens I was born with, my eyes. I was raised in a township called Tembisa on the East Rand of Johannesburg where I learned to draw and illustrate, write songs, poetry, short stories and scripts, produce and perform music and of course my foremost love, making films and taking photographs of the world as I see it. </p>
