Teamwork and Pep Talks – A Recipe for Success
I needed some accessories for my other hobby (leather craft), so, one afternoon, we went to the fabric malls of Dongmen in Shenzhen.
On our way, I noticed a familiar sight – a group of employees of a restaurant getting a pep talk before the start of their evening shift.

Walking the streets of a city like Shenzhen where you pass by thousands upon thousands of people (especially on a Saturday afternoon), one may easily think that you are in the midst of huge chaos, but you cannot be more wrong! Most, if not all, shops, restaurants, banks and government agencies with more than 5 personnel have this ritual every day at the beginning and end of a shift.
Maybe it is especially needed to keep some level of order in a city with so many citizens.
This reminded me of one of my long-term-sub-projects. Using my Fujifilm X-100F, I quickly photographed this new entry for my pep-talk project.

Back home, I moved the new editions to my pep-talk project folder, and as this is the third scene of this topic, I decided to share it with you.
Most likely the best photos for this project were the photos I took of the tour guides at Gaoyou lake at the beginning of their shift.

Being tour guides, which serves the public every day, an upright posture and a friendly smile are important assets. And there is no better way to learn the skill of smiling during all circumstances, than talking with a pencil bit between your teeth!
Look the difference between those women who have mastered the pencil grin, and the male tour guide who’s posture and lack of grin is a glaring giveaway that he is still rooky in this regard!
Some are better than others at this.
